The Evil Eye
The evil eye symbol dates back to 6th century B.C. This classical antiquity is intended to repel the curse of an evil glare and provide protection from jealousy and misfortune. Those who possess an evil eye charm are said to carry good luck. My mother, who immigrated to the U.S., used to pin a gold evil eye on us as babies for extra blessings. I repeated this tradition with my own children and I religiously wear my evil eye jewelry daily.
